Officials: Kid skipping class placed school on lockdown

Update: Official statement from school

Knox County School officials placed Knox County Middle School and Kentucky Tech / Knox County Area Technology Center on lockdown for twenty minutes Thursday morning as they investigated a report of an unknown student on the Kentucky Tech / Knox ATC campus which adjoins the middle school.
School officials say that the student was skipping class at Knox Central High School by showing up at Kentucky Tech. Knox Central transports students by bus to the technology center to attend vocational classes throughout the day.
When instructors identified an unknown student in their building, the school was placed on lockdown. School officials are investigating the incident and reviewing emergency management protocols which were used during the lockdown process.

Knox County school officials confirm schools were placed on lockdown for about 20 minutes. Lockdown has been lifted. No word yet on reason. We will update you with information as it becomes avaliable.
