Officials accused of violating open meetings act

Officials in one eastern Kentucky city are under fire.

City council members are accused of violating the open meetings act at their April 12th meeting.

The Harlan Daily Enterprise reports the attorney general's office handed down the decision against the city of Benham late last week.

Documents from the AG's office say the city council did not comply with notice requirements.

The complaint was filed with the attorney general's office by Wanda Humphrey, a former council member.
