Officials are still trying to identify body found in the Cumberland River

Police are still trying to identify a man found dead in the Cumberland River.

Whitley County Coroner Andy Croley says the man appears to have drowned and is thought to be around forty years old or older.

Police say the man is about 5’7”, and weighs between 140 and 160 pounds.

The body also had several unusual tattoos, including an octopus, a butterfly, and a heart with a dagger through it.

Officials say if anyone is missing a family member or friend to call Whitley County Dispatch at (606) 549 6017.
