Severe weather looks likely later this afternoon. The best chances appear to be between 3 p.m. and Midnight. Damaging winds, large hail, heavy rain, and an isolated tornado or two are possible. The area at the greatest risk for severe weather in eastern Kentucky is in the Cumberland Valley, near the I-75 corridor. Keep it locked here for updates.
The name of the person that died in an accident at Beech Fork State Park has been released.
According to the WVDNR, Stephen T. Childers, 25, of Barboursville died in the accident.
About 2 p.m. Tuesday, Childers was on a riding lawnmower near a bank at the Four Coves campground section of the park in Wayne County when he apparently lost control and went into the water.
According to the park superintendent, no campers were around when the accident happened. By the time emergency crews arrived to the scene -- it was too late.
Childers starting working at the park on May 9.
