Old fire station will become non-profit store

An old fire station in downtown London will now become a non-profit store benefiting children in the area.

Last week the London City Council agreed to let the building be used as a furniture consignment and the mayor says the decision was an easy one to make.

“Now, that same building is going to be turned into a business and all the proceeds going to at-risk children,” London Mayor Troy Rudder said.

Organizers say once the stores non-profit status is approved, they will be open for business.
