UPDATE: Woman killed in Rowan county accident identified

ROWAN COUNTY (WKYT) - Police say one woman is dead following a bad accident in Rowan county.

It happened on Cristy Creek Road, nearly 3 miles east of Morehead, just before 2 o'clock Tuesday.

Police say the female driver, 26-year-old Charli Wright of Sandy Hook was traveling west on KY 32, when she lost control. Officials say Wright's SUV left the road and hit a rock embankment. That's when the SUV rolled and Wright, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the car.

Wright was transported to Saint Claire Regional Medical, where she was pronounced dead.

Kentucky State Police and the Morehead Fire Department responded to the scene. State police are still investigating the accident.
