One dead, three injured following boating accident on Cherokee Lake

HAWKINS COUNTY, Tenn. (WYMT/WVLT)-- One person is dead and three others are injured after a boating accident on Cherokee Lake Monday.

According to TWRA Officer David Crum, two boats collided in the Poor Valley Creek area around 11:45 a.m.

Hawkins County EMS and Hawkins County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene along with TWRA.

Authorities have not released the identity of the person who died. The three people injured were taken to Morristown-Hamblen Hospital.

The investigation is ongoing.
