Updated: Tue 6:26 AM, Feb 05, 2013

MT. VERNON, Ky. (WYMT) - We now know the names of the victims involved in a deadly overnight crash in Rockcastle County.

It happened Monday night at the intersection of Highway 461 and 150 in Mount Vernon.

Officials say a car, driven by Don Barnett, 55 of Mount Vernon, ran a red light and crash into a vehicle being driven by Kimberly Benien, 23 of Somerset.

Barnett was taken to Rockcastle County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Benien and a passenger in her car were injured and taken to local hospitals.

Police say drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be factors in the crash.

Our sister station, WKYT, has learned that Barnett is a retired Rockcastle County High School teacher. We're told he also served as an assistant football coach at one time.
