One dozen facing drug charges in Magoffin Co.

MAGOFFIN COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - An investigation into illegal drug trafficking in Magoffin County has resulted in arrest warrants for 25 individuals.

Law enforcement officials from Operation UNITE, the Magoffin County Sheriff’s Office and Salyersville Police Department participated in a roundup to arrest the suspected dealers on Friday, November 16.

“UNITE and Sheriff Carson Montgomery have been investigating these cases for more than a year,” said Keith Napier, Big Sandy Task Force Manager for UNITE. “Most of the cases involved the sale of Oxycodone pills that have been brought into Kentucky from out of state.”

As of 2 p.m. Friday police had arrested 12 of the suspects. Those charged and taken to the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center are:

• Dudley Allen, 27, Puncheon Creek Road, Royalton, one count first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.

• Gary N. Arnett, 40, Royalton Road, Salyersville, one count first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.

• Ruby Grigsby, 45, Jim Arnett Road, Salyersville, two counts trafficking in marijuana less than eight ounces.

• William D. Howard, 40, Short Fork Road, Salyersville, two counts first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.

• William C. Hylton, 28, Old Burning Fork Road, Salyersville, one count first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.

• Stephanie L. Keeton, 24, Route 379, Salyersville, two counts first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.

• Tony R. Keeton, 38, Old Burning Fork Road, Salyersville, two counts first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.

• Virgil Miller, 39, Oakley Road, Royalton, two counts first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.

• Terry Paul Patrick, 51, Middle Fork Road, Salyersville, four counts first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.

• Mikel Porter, 56, Porter Lane, Salyersville, cultivating marijuana less than five plants.

• Nicole G. Risner, 40, Salyersville, five counts first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.

• Robbie D. Sparks, 32, Route 378, Salyersville, two counts first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.

Officers were continuing their search for the remaining 13 suspects.
