Coroner releases identity of man killed in fiery Jackson County crash

Gray Hawk, Ky. (WKYT/WYMT) - The Jackson County coroner has released the identity of a man killed in a fiery crash Sunday night.

Coroner Melvin Lakes say that 22-year-old Billy Jo Gibson Jr. was thrown from his vehicle when it hit a rock wall while he was driving home from Berea where he worked.

Multiple agencies responded to the scene in the community of Gray Hawk, just south of Mckee on Highway 421.

Gibson’s car caught on fire after hitting the rock wall.

No funeral arrangements have been made at this time.
