Severe weather looks likely on Saturday afternoon. The best chances appear to be between 2 p.m. Saturday and Midnight. Damaging winds, large hail, heavy rain, and an isolated tornado or two are possible. The area at the greatest risk for severe weather in eastern Kentucky is in the Cumberland Valley, near the I-75 corridor. Keep it locked here for updates.
One man was killed in a house fire, but his mother and her friend escaped the burning home in Whitley County.
It happened Saturday night on Sandy Flat Road in Williamsburg.
The Whitley County Deputy Coroner Andy Croley says the man was bed ridden with a medical condition.
The home was fully engulfed and burned to the ground.
Police are still investigating and do not know the cause of the fire.
No names are being released at this time.
