Folks at KCEOC are getting ready for Thursday's open house in Corbin.
The agency has converted the Old Corbin Hospital into a 16-unit apartment complex for the elderly. Monday, crews brought in furniture for the open house.
Officials said the community needs a facility like this one.
"That was one of the key points of doing a project like this, to bring affordable, comfortable living arrangements for people that are low income and elderly in our community," said Jennifer Smith, Vice-President of Program Operations for KCEOC.
There is already a waiting list for the complex. The agency hopes to start filling it August 1st.
