NORTON, Va. (WYMT/WJHL) - Blue Ridge PBS is shutting down two transmitters that carry the station's over-the-air digital signal to parts of Southwest Virginia and Tennessee.
Officials attribute the move to a loss of state funding and federal budget cuts.
The transmitters in Norton and Marion will be shut down sometime before June 30.
The decision means viewers in the Coalfields and the Tri-Cities region will no longer receive the station's over-the-air programming through digital antennas or converters.
