BONNYMAN, Ky. (WYMT) An Eastern Kentucky woman is behind bars, accused of selling a variety of drugs, even her own heart medication!
The motor home Nancy Neace, 56, lives in used to sit on Typo Road in Bonnyman. It now sits at the Perry County Garage waiting for a search warrant.
“She had several medication bottles outside in a cooler that normally you wouldn’t think medication bottles would be in,” Perry County Sheriff’s Deputy Jerry Burns said.
Deputies accuse Neace of selling illegal and prescription drugs to a number of people.
“We actually had a deputy on Highway 15. As vehicles would come up, they would run the stop sign and he would pull them over. All of the subjects had pills on them. They admitted where they bought them from,” Burns added.
Deputies say the operation was so elaborate, Neace even kept a notebook outlining every drug deal deputies say she made.
“This is the first time I’ve ever heard of someone selling heart medication. The Lortabs that she was selling and some of the other narcotics are pretty common,” Burns said.
Investigators are calling this one of the most significant drug busts of the year and credit the public for tipping them off.
“We had a couple complaints over the weekend, and that was the reason for us to get out there [Tuesday],” Burns added.
All part of an effort to make Eastern Kentucky a safer place to live.
Deputies say they are still investigating this case and say more arrests may come in the future.
