FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Residents of Middlesboro and Clinton will
have a chance to comment on a request for an increase in the amount
they pay for water at meetings starting this week.
The Kentucky Public Service Commission is conducting the public
meetings in response to requests from customers of Water Service
Corp. and elected officials.
The rate increase proposal amounts to about 22 percent.
Water Service Corp. says the increase is needed to pay for
modernization of information management systems at its parent
company, according to the PSC.
The Middlesboro meeting is set for 6:30 p.m. EDT Wednesday at
Middlesboro Community Center. In Clinton, the meeting will be at
5:30 p.m. CDT June 22 at the Hickman County Courthouse.
