COVINGTON, Ky. (AP) - A man who owned pain clinics in Florida and Ohio has pleaded guilty in Kentucky to a federal charge of conspiracy to launder money.

The U.S. Attorney's office said in a statement that 38-year-old Jody L. Robinson of Portsmouth, Ohio, entered the plea on Thursday in federal court in Covington. The statement said a co-defendant, 34-year-old William Muldoon of Margate, Fla., also pleaded guilty to the same charge.

Federal prosecutors said Robinson acknowledged making more than $400,000 by using a doctor to unlawfully write prescriptions to patients from Lawrence, Boyd and Greenup counties in eastern Kentucky. The statement says patients at the clinics paid about $150 in cash for prescriptions that were usually filled for $300 at an in-house pharmacy.

According to prosecutors, Muldoon advertised the clinics for Robinson.
