Pain clinic doctor faces federal drug charges

A Paintsville pain clinic doctor, whose office was raided earlier this year, is now facing federal drug charges.

Doctor Richard Albert is charged with criminal conspiracy to distribute prescription pills.

In documents, undercover officers claim Albert prescribed medication without a "legitimate medical purpose."

One employee told investigators Albert issued prescriptions to addicts.

Records show Albert was released from jail and is not allowed to write prescriptions while he is out.
