PAINTSVILLE, Ky. (WYMT) - A Johnson County man is behind bars accused of shooting his neighbor.

State police say they got the call someone had been shot at Pine View Mobile Home Court in Paintsville just after 5:00 yesterday evening.

They say 43-year-old Jeffrey Irvin shot his neighbor through a window in her trailer.

Irvin was arrested and is facing charges of first degree assault.

"The female subject's name is not being released at this time. She was transported to St. Mary's Medical Center where she was listed in critical condition," said Trooper Shaun Little.

Police are still investigating a possible motive.

Irvin is being held at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center. He declined our request for an interview.
