Parents wait, worry after Ga. school shooting

DECATUR, Ga. (AP) - A 20-year-old man is charged in a Georgia elementary school shooting that left no casualties but led to parents being terrified that it would be a repeat of the school massacre in Connecticut.

Chief Cedric L. Alexander says as officers swarmed the campus outside, Hill shot at them at least half a dozen times with an assault rifle and they returned fire.

Hill then surrendered and faces several charges.

More than one parent waiting at a nearby Wal-Mart for buses to bring their children said they couldn't help but think of Sandy Hook Elementary School where a gunman in December killed 26 people, 20 of them children.
