Parents of the Bell County toddler that died from intoxication last spring were sentenced in court.
Carrie Brummett and Rondall Mosley will each serve eight years behind bars.
The couple stood before a judge ... separately.
Mosley waved to his family that came to tell him goodbye.
The pair pleaded guilty to a manslaughter charge.
Now they will spend nearly one decade behind bars.
Toxicology reports show Kayla Elizabeth Mosley had prescription medication in her system.
Police say the two year old likely picked up pills and over dosed.
Officers say if Brummett and Mosley would have acted quicker, the toddler might still be alive.
Attorneys say this case highlights the growing drug problem in the region ...and what's worse is that a little child was lost.
"For a child to pay the price is truly tragic," said Commonwealth Attorney Karen Greene Blondell.
Several family members were in the courtroom but they did not want to go on camera and comment. They have yet to give WYMT a photo of the little girl.
A little girl that never got to celebrate her third birthday.
The couple will serve their sentence in a state penitentiary.
