Parole denied for man convicted of manslaughter

WHITESBURG, KY (WYMT) The Kentucky Parole Board has denied parole for a Letcher County man convicted of manslaughter.

Samuel Collier would have been eligible for parole in September.

Earlier this year he was convicted of shooting and killing Mark Sturgill.

He admitted to killing Sturgill during a 911 call the night of the incident.

He was sentenced to ten years in prison and will be up for parole again in two years.
