Two Kentucky lawmakers are banding together for industrial hemp to be produced in the commonwealth.
United States Senator Rand Paul and Kentucky Agricultural Commissioner James Comer made the announcement at the Kentucky Farm Bureau's Ham Breakfest.
Paul is sponsoring legislation in the U.S. Senate that would lift the federal restrictions.
While Comer made a promise during his campaign to press fellow lawmakers to allow Kentucky farmers to grow hemp.
