Penguin leaves mess on senate president's desk

A special appearance by a penguin at the Kentucky capitol Tuesday got a much bigger response than anyone expected.

Paula the penguin was recognized by lawmakers in the senate as part of an exhibit at the Newport Aquarium. Paula was placed on Senator David Williams' floor desk, and then proceeded to make sure its presence wasn't soon forgotten.

When Senator Williams realized what had happened he asked if the penguin had just defecated on the floor, only to be told, "Actually Senator, I think that was your desk."

The Senate granted floor privileges to the penguin, which caused Senator Williams to reply it had already left its mark on the floor.
