HAZARD, Ky (WYMT) - The Perry County Conservation District now has a new place to call home.
Tuesday, a ribbon cutting ceremony was held in honor of the new building.
Previously the conservation district had been located in the Perry County Courthouse.
With this new location next to Ponderosa Steak House in Hazard, officials say it will help them expand their services.
"It will be a familiar place that people will know where we are at. Kind of, when you are in the court house you are kind of lost with all the other offices in there, and this will be a place that people will know there we are at," said Bobby Brown who is the board's chairman.
The Perry County Conservation District currently works with the local schools and also aids in projects like the electronic recycling program.
