100 years: It’s a measure of time we often use as a benchmark of longevity. Today that achievement is bestowed upon a storied church in Perry County and while there are none alive who remember its first day on this planet, some can go a ways back
“I'm glad I started when I did, when I was young, to give the Lord my heart when I was young.”
Nearly seventy-five years ago, Ada Brashear gave her heart at the Wabaco Pentecostal Church. Since then, the church has gone through some growing pains on the road to its centenial anniversary.
“The original building was in 1923 I believe, the one I got married in was in the 70s and it burnt in the 70s and the after that we built this building.”
And so with nostalgia and fun, this church in Eastern Kentucky is celebrating the centennial this week by worshipping and remembering together.
