Physicians group offering healthy tweets

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Some Louisville doctors are offering healthy advice in the form of tweets that remind followers to do such things as protect themselves from the sun and prepare food safely.

Greater Louisville Medical Society says its Twitter feed is designed to promote health and wellness in the community.

Society President and endocrinologist David E. Bybee says Louisville has problems with obesity, heart disease and other chronic conditions. He says the doctors hope the tweets will help prevent people from engaging in unhealthy activity and remind them to keep tabs on their health.

The feed can be followed on Twitter at http://twitter.com/vitalsigns2go or phones can be set to receive the tweets by texting "follow VitalSigns2Go" to 40404.
