PIKE COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - A Floyd County man is facing felony charges after the Pike County Fiscal Court paid for a sign they never got.
Officials say they paid more than $16,000 for an LED sign and brick facing to be placed outside the courthouse, but they never got the sign.
They filed a complaint against Lester Lemaster of action outdoor faith signs and awnings for theft by deception a Class C Felony.
"Frankly we are so disappointed that we don't have a sign, that we have $16,000 of the taxpayers money that is now gone, and we're going to make every effort, we're going to leave no stone unturned so to speak, to make sure that we recover that money on behalf of the people of Pike County," said Deputy Judge Executive John Doug Hays.
Police have not arrested Lester at this time.
