PIKE Co., Ky. (WYMT) - Disturbing the peace in a quiet place. A mother and daughter in Pike County said they want answers after their family gravestone was ruined.
They said the stone cost more than $1,000. Now they need your help finding who's responsible.
"It was devastating, heartbreaking, and we don't know why anybody would do something like this," said the daughter.
The daughter did not want to go on camera, but said their gravestone was left in pieces.
"Across the fence up there is the actual tombstone that had my mother and my name on it," she told us.
Her mother, Sue Sexton, said she got a call Wednesday night around 11:30 p.m.
"I let the answering machine pick it up," Sexton said. "It was a woman on the phone and she said the tombstone at your grave have been busted all to pieces."
Sue Sexton said she did not know what to think.
"I couldn't believe it," said Sexton.
Sexton wants whoever is responsible for damaging her property to come forward and explain themselves.
She's hoping more information leads to answers.
