Pike County Clerk injured in wreck

Several people were severely injured in a wreck including the Pike County Clerk and two children.

It happened on Sunday around 10:30 a.m. in Pikeville at Buckley's Creek.

Pikeville Police say Lillian Pearl Elliott was driving a Chevrolet Blazer and crashed head on into another car with a man and two young children inside.
All went to the hospital.
We're told Elliott went to a Lexington hospital on Monday for surgery, but she does not have life threatening injuries.

Police are looking into the cause of the crash.
"It's still under investigation, but it is believed the Blazer had run a red light," said Scotty Hamilton, Pikeville City Police Officer.

Police say the other driver is named Jeff Robinson.
There's no word on the condition of him or the two children in his car.
