An Eastern Kentucky mine is idled because of dangerous conditions.

The Appalachian News Express reports MSHA shut down a Pike County mine after Methane was found in an explosive range.

Mine Number Three is owned by Excel Mining.

The report was issued early this week prompting an inspection.
