Pike County schools facing possible two million dollar deficit

Another Eastern Kentucky school district could be facing a budget deficit of more than two million dollars this coming fiscal year.

The Appalachian News Express reports district budget committee members approved a budget last week to pass along to the Pike County board for consideration.

If the deficit turns out to be true, officials could have to lay off employees and could face the potential of a state takeover.
