Updated: Tue 5:00 PM, Oct 09, 2012

PIKEVILLE, Ky (WYMT) - Police in Pikeville released new information Tuesday about a weekend death investigation.

Police are now calling this death investigation a murder.

Police say they got a tip on Sunday that someone may be dead at 150 Adams Lane in Pikeville.

Police found an unresponsive male at the home and sent the body to Frankfort for an autopsy.

Those results came back Tuesday, and police determined that 50-year-old Ricky Coleman had been shot to death in his home.

"The subject did die from gunshot wounds, and our investigation has now switched gears from a death investigation to a murder investigation," said Pikeville Public Safety Director Paul Maynard.

At this time police are not releasing many details about the investigation.

If you have any information, you can call the Pikeville Police Department at 606-437-5111.
