GRAVEL SWITCH, Ky. (AP) - Police are investigating after they were called to the scene of a murder-suicide.

It happened late Friday night on Little South Road in the Gravel Switch Community of Casey County.

For the past few weeks, Judith Duncil had been staying at her friend’s home because Judith had been fighting with her boyfriend, 61-year-old Gregory Merrick.

But on Friday night, their fighting turned fatal.

On Friday, Merrick showed up at Judith’s friends’ home looking for Judith.

Police say the couple began fighting and screaming on the front porch of the home.

The night quickly took a tragic turn when George grabbed a rifle out of his truck and fired it at Judith---killing her.

Merrick then turned the gun on himself and took his own life.

Police arrived not long after the shots were fired and found the couple dead on the front porch of the house where Judith was staying.

Kentucky State Police are still investigating.
