ANNVILLE, Ky (WYMT) - Police say a Jackson County woman left her two young children alone at home for hours Sunday morning.

She's now facing wanton endangerment and endangering the welfare of a minor charges.

The mother, Sarah Wilder, was found after her kids went to a neighbors house.

Police say they received a complaint on Cheap Store Road in the Annville Community of Jackson County.

They received a call that two kids, age 2 and 5, were left home alone through part of the night.

Sunday morning, police say the two kids woke up and the older child walked to a neighbors house looking for her mother, Sarah Wilder.

Police contacted Wilder and waited for her to come back to the house, but they say she never came.

Police say they found her intoxicated. The arrested citation states she blew a .29 on the preliminary breath test, and that police found numerous empty beer cans in the house of Cheap Store Road.

Wilder's family did not want to talk on camera, but they say she is a good mother and has never done anything like this.

The family says they were shocked when they found out what happened.

Police say the kids were left alone for about 7 hours.

The arrest citation states Wilder told authorities she had been drinking and left to get more beer.

She declined our request for a jailhouse interview.
