UPDATE: Driver in custody following two county police chase

BREATHITT & PERRY COUNTY, Ky (WYMT) - 11:30pm Update:

Officials tell us the chase which started following a traffic stop on Highway 15 in Breathitt County has ended in Perry County.

We are told officers were able to deploy spike strips, ending the chase.

Police tell us the chase, which lasted for about 20 miles, reached speeds between 75 and 80 miles per hour at times.

We are told the driver, Fred Kilburn, is in custody and was transported to Hazard ARH.

Officers tell us Kilburn had an active warrant out for his arrest.

We are following a breaking news story in Breathitt County.

Officials with the Jackson City Police Department tell us a routine traffic stop led to a chase on Highway 15.

Police say it started around 10:30 Thursday night.

KSP, Jackson Police Department, Breathitt Sheriff's Office, and Perry County Sheriff's Office are all involved.

They say they are following a red pick-up truck driving south.

As of a few minutes ago, the chase was active and had entered into Perry County.

We have a crew on the way and will continue to update you as information becomes available.
