MANCHESTER, Ky (WYMT) - Officials are releasing new information after a Clay County man was found dead in his home.
Police say a family member found 74-year-old Earl Woods' body around 7:00 Thursday night.
The coroner now tells Mountain News that autopsy results show Woods died of multiple sharp and blunt force injuries.
Family members say Woods was in poor health, and he was beaten and also robbed.
"They could have taken what they wanted. They didn't have to kill him," said Woods' daughter-in-law Dena Woods.
Dena Woods says she wants to know why someone would do this.
Police are releasing very few details at this time about the events surrounding Woods' murder.
Police have not made any arrests in the case, but say they do have some persons of interest.
