Police investigating two seperate robberies in Ashland

ASHLAND, Ky. (WYMT/WSAZ) - Police are investigating a pair of armed robberies in the city since early Monday morning.

The first robbery happened at Jolly Pirate Donuts on Winchester Avenue about 1:45 a.m. Monday.

Ashland Police say the suspect was wearing a black pull-over sweat jacket and had a gun

They believe he fled the store in a brown, Nissan passenger car.

The second robbery happened at Ken's BP on 29th Street overnight Monday.

Police say the two suspects took and an unknown amount of money from the register.

A clerk and cook were working in the store at the time of the robbery.

Police say they are looking at surveillance video to see if the two robberies are connected.
