HARLAN, Ky. (WYMT) - The Pizza Hut in Harlan was robbed at gunpoint overnight. Now police are looking for suspects.
It happened around 1:45 a.m. when police say the manager was taking the night deposit bag to her car.
Police say Pizza Hut manager Dottie Brock was walking to her car when she said two men wearing masks came up, pointed a gun at her, and demanded the night deposit money bag.
"Ms. Brock did what she needed to do. Anytime you're confronted go ahead and comply as far as giving them the money," said Officer John D. Noe, Harlan Police Department.
Brock told police the two men also got her keys to the building and then ran behind the restaurant and over an embankment.
Police recovered some clues in the woods behind the restaurant, but there are no arrests yet.
"We later found evidence of the direction of travel and some other stuff and we're working leads right now," said Noe.
Police say one robber wore a light colored hooded sweatshirt and the other wore a dark colored hooded sweatshirt.
Police are not releasing how much money was stolen.
Brock and other Pizza Hut employees could not speak on camera.
Employees next door at KFC say the robbery puts them on edge.
"It's scary. It's so close; it's happening here," said Christy Elliott.
KFC employees say they are taking extra precautions now.
"We will be watching, making sure it doesn't happen here," said Elliott.
Harlan Police ask anyone with information on the robbers to report it by calling Harlan Police at 606-573-1121.
