1:10 PM Update: JACKSON, Ky. (WYMT) The suspect has told police that he was asleep and that is why he didn't respond to any of their attempts to contact him. Police are now questioning suspect.
1:08 PM Update: JACKSON, Ky. (WYMT) - Officials say the situation has ended. We're awaiting further information from Kentucky State Police.
7:35am Update:
JACKSON, Ky. (WYMT) - School officials with Jackson Independent Schools tell Mountain News they are letting children and personnel into the school, but the building is on lock down.
We have a crew heading to the scene and will have the latest as we get it.

JACKSON, Ky. (WYMT) - We are following a breaking story this morning out of Breathitt County.
Dispatchers tell Mountain News officers with Kentucky State Police and Jackson Police are on the scene of a standoff.
We are told the suspect is barricaded inside a home on Broadway Spur Street.
It started just after 4:30 this morning.
No word if he has a weapon or not.
