Police in Knox County say an investigation into one crime led them to find several stolen trailers.

The Barbourville Police Department arrested Sean Messer and Christopher Mills on unrelated charges.

Police say they believe the two are also behind a string of trailer thefts in the city. They say trailers were stolen from Knox County Schools, T and L Pawn Shop, and North Main Street Church.

"They had actually taken the trailers and sold and traded them for various items," said Det. Steve Owens.

Police say they recovered all the trailers.

The suspects are in jail on the unrelated charges. Barbourville Police say they plan to charge Messer and Mills with theft by unlawful taking for each of the stolen trailers.
