FLEMING NEON, Ky (WYMT) - Police have made two arrests in a Letcher County convenience store robbery more than one week after it happened.
Police say back in October a man came into the Double Kwik in Neon armed with a knife and stole money.
Police now say it was all set-up.
Carley Austin was the clerk on duty that night when police say this man came into the store with a knife, turned out the lights and demanded cash.
Police say that man was actually the clerk's boyfriend, 25 year old Michael Aumiller.
Police say the two had been planning this for months.
Police say they suspected early on that something was not quite right with this robbery, and they thought the clerk might have been involved.
"The drawer had about five times as much as it should have," said Captain Tim Miller with the Fleming Neon Police Department.
The clerk later told police that she was not going to make the scheduled drops.
Austin has now been charged with complicity to robbery.
Police also charged and arrested a third person, 26-year-old Phillip Eldridge.
"He was the one that dropped Mr. Aumiller off in front of the store and also picked him up, and also stated that he received some of the money that was stolen," said Miller.
Police say Eldridge and Aumiller drove into Virginia after the robbery.
Police say the clerk admitted to the scheme during an interview.
