SALYERSVILLE, Ky. (WYMT) - Officials in Magoffin County continue searching for one man who allegedly assaulted his wife and two men.
Officers say 24-year-old Jonathan Endicott was last seen on Borders Road in the Mine Fork area.
Officers in Magoffin County say it all started when they got a call that 24-year-old Jonathan Endicott was beating his wife.
"Witnesses there say jonathan was on Xanax and other pain medication, and he just went crazy and started to smack her and hit her on top of the head," said Magoffin County Sheriff's Deputy Joshua Pease.
Police say two men tried to help her when Endicott attacked them.
The witnesses told police he pulled a gun and fired it into the air.
"I did locate the handgun, but it appeared to me that it hadn't been shot," said Pease.
But what police could not locate was Endicott.
"Mr. Endicott hit the hills on us before we got there," said Pease.
Police say they have heard Endicott may be in the Auxier area of Floyd County. They are asking anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact the Magoffin County Sheriff's Department.
"Word was that Mr. Endicott's stepfather picked him up that evening after he came out of the hills and took him to Floyd County," said Pease.
They believe he ran because he has two outstanding warrants, one from Jessamine County and one from Floyd County, and during the initial investigation officers say they found needles, pill bottles, and 14 marijuana plants where Endicott was staying.
They plan to file two more charges of second degree assault against him.
