Police searching for escaped inmate in Boyd County

BOYD COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT/WSAZ) - A work release inmate is on the run in Boyd County, Kentucky.

The Boyd County Detention Center says Michael Meadow escaped.

Deputies say he was working at a church on Carter Avenue.

He was helping clean up after a pancake breakfast, when he took off.

Meadows was serving time for 2nd degree assault.

He only had 90 days left in jail.

Now he could end up spending another year behind bars.
