FLOYD Co., Ky. (WYMT) - Kentucky State Police are investigating an armed robbery at one Subway restaurant in the Allen community of Floyd County.
Since opening last December the manager of the Subway restaurant says they have been robbed twice.
The most recent incident occurring this weekend.
Trooper Shaun Little says an employee was attempting to close for the evening when one male subject entered the business.
Little says the man walked into the Subway wearing wearing a white hooded sweatshirt, white handkerchief over his face and a pair of shorts.
He then showed a weapon and demanded cash.
Law enforcement officials say before exiting the business he took an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register.
Officials say he ran away from the scene on foot and right now they do not know where he is.
The suspect could face armed robbery charges.
The restaurant manager declined an interview, but says whoever did this needs to be caught.
Troopers are encouraging store managers to be safe.
"These businesses just need to be alert with the economy the way it is. Just watch the patrons that are coming into the building and if they feel like they have a problem contact the state police and we can come by and check on them," said Little.

Officials are also investigating an attempted robbery in the Betsy Layne community, but do not believe the cases are related.
