CORBIN, Ky. (WKYT) - Police say a stolen gun investigation led them to Design House Pawn Shop..on Main Street in Corbin. Sheriff’s deputies went there to serve several warrants.
And they brought out 51 year old James Woodrow King in handcuffs.
“He is accused of receiving stolen property. Knowingly receiving stolen property,” said Sheriff Colan Harrell.
King claims he didn’t know the guns were stolen.
“Honestly, there needs to be a better system involved in dealing with firearms ,” said King, as he was being led out of the store by police.
Police say 9 guns were stolen from a home on Alsip Trail. Police were able to recover all the guns and return them to their owner.
Police say 40 year olds Jerry Wayne Hart and Nancy Lemons are accused of stealing the weapons.
“It was a burglary, where they went in and kicked the door down and went in and took the weapons,” said Sheriff Harrell.
Police believe the guns ended up with King and the pawn shop owner, Donald Leon.
“He didn’t receive them at the pawn shop, his intent was to sell them at the pawn shop,” said Harrell.
“As a legal gun owner, this should not happen,” said King.
