Police: GPS unit may have played role in crash

Police think a GPS unit may have played a role in a crash that left a woman badly injured.

The crash happened around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday on Pretty Ridge Road in Rowan County.

State Police say Gearaldine Stitt lost control of her van in a curve and hit a tree.

Police say she was likely distracted by a GPS at the time.

We're told Stitt was airlifted to UK hospital with feet and leg injuries.
