A woman concerned about her husband’s welfare inside the Whitley County home on Letha Petrey Rd. in Canadatown…brought police to the front door early this morning. The deputy was welcomed inside…..
And then police say he saw a one step meth lab. Wendell and Jessica Canada were the primary residents….and police say their children were inside while the meth was being cooked.
The children, ages 5 and 7, required decontamination. Their parents….along with Bobbie Rudder and Harrison Sulfridge were arrested and charged with making meth and first degree wanton endangerment.
“It’s definitely hazardous to children, or anybody. You don’t know if it’s going to cause learning disabilities, or lung problems, or cancer down the road,” said Deputy K.Y. Fuson with the Whitley County Sheriff’s Office.
Police say the children were taken away by social workers, but neighbors say they’re not in the custody of their grandparents.
Deputies arrested four people at the home for manufacturing
methamphetamine and wanton endangerment, including the children's parents, 27-year-old Jessica S. Canada and 29-year-old Wendell Canada. Police also 31-year-old Harrison Sulfridge of Williamsburg and 25-year-old Bobbie L. Rudder of East Bernstadt.
