Police in two states investigating credit card scam with ties to Clay County

Police in two states are investigating a credit card fraud operation where purchases are being sent to Clay County.

During the course of investigation into the use of an unauthorized credit card in New York, state troopers there found numerous items being shipped to an address on Sextons Creek.

This particular scam targets online dating site users with those responsible posing as a person in the military that is stationed over seas.

Kentucky State Police have joined the ongoing investigation and encourage anyone with more information to contact them.
