Police remove pregnant woman from meth lab site

Police say a woman, 8-months pregnant, had to be taken to the hospital after she was found at a home with a meth lab.

Officials with Operation UNITE say 30-year-old Shelley Parrigin was at an apartment in Monticello, where there was an active lab, ingredients to make meth, and a gram of freshly made meth.

Parrigin was taken to a local hospital and then transferred to a hospital in Lexington.

“We often encounter children, whether they are there when the meth is being cooked or not. It's at least evidence they lived there in the homes. And we believe it's going to continue until we make pseudoephedrine a schedule one drug,” Dan Smoot said.

There's no word on Parrigin's condition.

Police say she could face charges when the case is presented to a Wayne County Grand Jury.

Officers did arrest three people at the apartment for making meth.
