Police search for robbery suspect

Posted: Tue 6:26 PM, Jun 14, 2011

Police are searching for a man they say robbed a Corbin gas station Monday night.

It happened at Circle-K on Fifth Street and Cumberland Falls Highway.

The suspect, wearing a band-aid on his face, showed the clerk a gun before stealing more than $1,400 in cash from the store's safe and lottery tickets.

He unsuccessfully tried to cash in the lottery tickets Tuesday afternoon in Williamsburg and was last seen traveling toward Jellico.

He is believed to be in his mid 20's, wearing a navy blue sweatshirt, khaki shorts and sunglasses.

If you have any information, you should call the Whitley County Sheriff's Department.
